Purchase / Transfer Process

Overall the firearms purchasing process is easy, but it can look complicated. We are here to help guide you through the process. All applicants purchasing firearms must fill out a federal 4473 form, if purchasing a handgun a Wisconsin state form as well, a background check will be preformed on all firearm sales. The only information transmitted to government agencies is your personal info to help identify you for background check purposes, and the type of firearm being purchased or transferred (Long Gun, Hand Gun, or Other). The rest of the info such as serial number, manufacturer, etc is retained in on site records and will only be transmitted to the go

Handguns: Must be 21 years of age, be a Wisconsin resident, have a government issued photo ID with your picture and current address on it, not be convicted of any crimes or prohibited by state / federal law from owning or possessing a handgun. Once we receive your handgun we will contact you, bring your ID and money, come and fill out the federal 4473 form and Wisconsin “handgun hotline” form and we will process the state background check, once the background check comes back clear and we have settled payment you get to walk away with your shiny new gun.

Long Guns: Must be 18 years of age, have a government issued photo ID with your picture and current address on it, not be convicted of any crimes or prohibited by state / federal law from owning or possessing a long gun. Once we receive your long gun we will contact you, bring your ID and money, come and fill out the federal 4473, we will process the federal background check, once the background check comes back clear and we have settled payment you get to walk away with your shiny new gun.
